Where this review stands right nowI have not finished hands-on testing of this product yet. What follows is built from the vendor's own documentation, its published pricing, and what users report publicly. The score reflects that reading, and it will change once I have used the product myself and added my own screenshots and measurements to this page. I would rather tell you that than pretend.

One flat price, community and courses in the same product.

My verdict

Skool wins on restraint. There is one price, one interface, and members work out how to use it without a tutorial. You give up design control and advanced course features in exchange. That trade is worth it only when the community is the product.

Score breakdown

Scores are weighted using my published method. The overall figure is set by the reviewer and does not have to match the arithmetic mean. A serious flaw in one area can outweigh good marks elsewhere.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Flat $99 regardless of member count, with no tier cliffs as you grow
  • Community, courses, calendar and payments in one place
  • Members need no onboarding; the interface is deliberately plain

What doesn't

  • Almost no control over member-area design
  • Course tooling is shallow, with no quizzes worth the name
  • $99 is steep for a community under ~30 paying members

Who it's for

Choose Skool if…

Paid communities where discussion matters more than curriculum structure.

Look elsewhere if…

Structured education needing quizzes, SCORM, cohorts or detailed reporting.

How I tested Skool

This is where the account details, dates and measurements go once testing is done. Internal note, delete before publishing: record the plan you paid for, the dates, the hours, the tasks you ran, and at least three numbers you measured yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Is Skool worth the money?

Skool wins on restraint. Whether it is worth it depends on the fit described above, so read the 'who it's for' section before committing to an annual plan.

Is there a free version?

14-day trial Check the vendor's page for current terms; trial lengths change.

How did you score this product?

Six weighted criteria, published in full on my how-we-test page. The overall figure is set by the reviewer, not calculated automatically.

Do you earn a commission if I sign up?

Yes, on some products. It does not change the score. My editorial independence policy explains the separation.

Le Thi Ngan, Founder & lead reviewer

I spend most of my time trying software out and writing down what I find. I started this site because the reviews I wanted to read, the ones that say where a product breaks and who should not buy it, mostly did not exist. I write from Vietnam, I pay for the accounts I write about, and I share what is worth the money with the people who follow me here.
